Gentili turisti e visitatori, che avete scelto questa terra per il vostro tempo di riposo e scoperta, la Comunità cristiana, insieme ai sacerdoti e ai diaconi, vi accoglie con gioia e vi porge il più cordiale benvenuto. Lasciatevi avvolgere dal verde delle colline e dall’azzurro profondo del mare; lasciatevi guidare dalla fede dei Padri, che ha trovato dimora e memoria nelle pietre vive delle nostre chiese e nei tesori custoditi nei musei diocesani di Pesaro e Urbino.

Tra questi luoghi di bellezza e di fede la Cattedrale di Pesaro, dedicata a Santa Maria Assunta, che conserva sotto l’attuale pavimento un patrimonio straordinario: due estesi livelli di mosaici pavimentali, dal IV – XI sec. Una “Bibbia di pietra”, capace ancora oggi di parlare agli occhi e al cuore. La nuova sala multimediale allestita nel prospiciente Palazzo Lazzarini accompagna il visitatore in un percorso immersivo. Anche la musica sacra è una via privilegiata per accostarsi al mistero e alla bellezza: parla al cuore di ogni uomo e di ogni donna, oltre ogni confine di fede. Pesaro, patria di Gioachino Rossini e Città Creativa UNESCO della Musica dal 2017, custodisce e rinnova questa vocazione attraverso iniziative che uniscono arte, spiritualità e cultura. In questo orizzonte si inserisce la rassegna organistica internazionale “Vespri d’organo a Cristo Re”.

Entrando nelle nostre chiese, troverete oasi di silenzio, pace e preghiera, luoghi in cui il tempo sembra rallentare e dove sacerdoti accoglienti sono pronti al dialogo. Vi invitiamo a unirvi a noi nella celebrazione della Santa Messa domenicale: la vostra presenza è un dono che arricchisce la nostra comunità. In questo soggiorno, possiate scoprire non solo panorami e cultura, ma anche volti amici. Dear tourists and visitors, you who have chosen this land for your time of rest and discovery, the Christian Community, together with the priests and deacons, welcomes you with joy and extends a most cordial welcome. Allow yourselves to be enveloped by the green of the hills and the deep blue of the sea; let yourselves be guided by the faith of the Fathers, which has found a home and a lasting memory in the living stones of our churches and in the treasures preserved in the Diocesan Museums of Pesaro and Urbino.

Among these places of beauty and faith, the Cathedral of Pesaro, dedicated to Saint Mary of the Assumption, deserves particular attention. Beneath its present floor, it preserves an extraordinary heritage: two extensive levels of mosaic flooring, dating respectively from the Palaeochristian and Byzantine periods. These mosaics recount centuries of Christian life, rendering visible a “Bible in stone” that still speaks today to both the eyes and the heart. The new multimedia room, housed in the adjacent Palazzo Lazzarini, guides visitors along an immersive journey, which can then be admired directly through the large glass panels inside the Cathedral. Sacred music, too, is a privileged pathway to approaching mystery and beauty: it speaks to the heart of every man and woman, transcending all boundaries of faith. Pesaro, birthplace of Gioachino Rossini and a UNESCO Creative City of Music since 2017, safeguards and renews this vocation through initiatives that unite art, spirituality, and culture. It is within this context that the International organ festival “Vespri d’organo a Cristo Re” is situated.

As you enter our churches, you will find oases of silence, peace, and prayer – places where time seems to slow down and where welcoming priests are ready to engage in dialogue. We invite you to join us in the celebration of Sunday Mass: your presence is a gift that enriches our community. May your stay be a time not only to discover beautiful landscapes and rich culture, but also to encounter friendly faces, simple gestures. A holiday is a precious time to look upon life with fresh eyes, to rediscover the well-being of the spirit, and to open oneself to a living encounter with God.
